How much do I need?

Depending on the product , the amount needed can be worked out pretty easily. As the products are mixed with either the fuel (diesel or gasoline), or the oil (engine, transmission, differential or hydraulics) at a particular rate, some simple math can be applied to determine the correct size required. Below is the complete list of products with helpful information in determining which size is most applicable to your need.

 

Cleanpower Super-concentrated Fuel Treatment

This is added directly to the fuel tank (diesel or gasoline) at time of fill up.

It is recommended to use a 'double dose' for the first 600 miles, so that it can do a thorough job of removing tough deposits on injector tips quickly. After 600 miles, the single dose rate can be used to continue to clean further deposits, and to keep the complete fuel system clean, and the injectors delivering fuel as designed by the manufacturers. Continued use will ensure maximum fuel efficiency & power, smooth engine operation,  and less harmful emissions/exhaust smoke - all resulting in longer engine life and lower ongoing maintenance costs.

Treatment rates:

Initial treatment (first 600 miles): Add 0.3 fluid ounces per 10 gallons of fuel

Example:

10 gallons of fuel - add 0.3 ounces

40 gallons of fuel - add 1.2 ounces

80 gallons of fuel - add 2.4 ounces

150 gallons of fuel - add 4.5 ounces

Ongoing  treatment (after 600 miles): Add 0.15 fluid ounces per 10 gallons of fuel.

Example:

10 gallons of fuel - add 0.15 ounces

40 gallons of fuel - add 0.6 ounces

80 gallons of fuel - add 1.2 ounces

150 gallons of fuel - add 2.25 ounces

As a rule of thumb, and depending on the miles per gallon (MPG) the vehicle achieves, the following is usually helpful in determining which size is most suitable for your application -

 

8oz & 16oz sizes - Suitable for cars & small to medium SUV's, small trucks, etc

32oz & 64oz sizes - Suitable for medium trucks, RV's, 4 Wheel-drives, etc

1 Gallon, 2.5 Gallons, & 20 Liters - Suitable for large trucks & machinery, Fleet & workshops etc

An example of mileage travelled on 8 ounces:

A vehicle averaging 25MPG will use approximately 0.75 ounces in the first 600 miles (initial treatment, double dose), and then the remaining 7.25 ounces (ongoing treatment) will be enough for approximately another 12,000 miles.

CRD Fuel Enhancer

This is added directly to the fuel tank (diesel only) at time of fill up.

Treatment rate: Add 0.15 fluid ounces per 10 gallons of fuel.

Example:

10 gallons of fuel - add 0.15 ounces

40 gallons of fuel - add 0.6 ounces

80 gallons of fuel - add 1.2 ounces

150 gallons of fuel - add 2.25 ounces

Flushing Oil Concentrate

 

This is added directly to the oil immediately prior to the oil change. It is not recommended to be added to the oil and ran for extended periods of time.

Instructions:

INITIAL TREATMENT/DIRTY ENGINES

Bring engine to FULL operating temperature. Drain old oil and refill with new, clean oil (this can be inexpensive oil for this purpose). Operate the engine to warm up the oil again, then add Flushing Oil Concentrate to engine oil at 0.5oz per quart (12.5ml per liter) of engine oil. Run the engine at a fast idle, stationary, for 45 minutes. For most small and medium type engines, this means 1500-2000 RPM. For larger truck type engines (e.g. Series 60 Detroits, Cats, Macks, Cummins, etc), run at about 1200 RPM. Drain the engine oil and replace oil filter. Refill with quality engine oil.

Example: 5 quart/liter oil capacity = 2.5oz (62ml) Flushing Oil Concentrate

5 gallon (20 liter) oil capacity = 10oz (250ml) Flushing Oil Concentrate

10 gallon (40 liter) oil capacity = 20oz (500ml) Flushing Oil Concentrate

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

Bring engine to FULL operating temperature. Add Flushing Oil Concentrate to engine oil at 0.1oz per quart  (2.5ml per liter) of engine oil 30 - 60 minutes before oil change. Drive/operate normally. Continue with normal oil change.

Example: 5 quart/liter oil capacity = 0.5oz (12.5ml) Flushing Oil Concentrate

5 gallon (20 liter) oil capacity = 2oz (50ml) Flushing Oil Concentrate

10 gallon (40 liter) oil capacity = 4oz (100ml) Flushing Oil Concentrate

Below is a chart that may be helpful to determine which size is best for you depending on your vehicle's oil capacity. It indicates how much Flushing Oil Concentrate is required for the initial, concentrated flush depending on the oil capacity of the vehicle, as well as how many subsequent routine maintenance oil flushes can be obtained with the remainder of the Concentrate in the bottle, be it 8oz, 16oz, or 32oz bottle...

Basically, for the initial, hard-working, concentrated flush - this flush breaks down heavy, baked-on sludge, including carbon on piston skirts etc, sludge causing piston oil-rings to stick in the grooves, etc, - add 1/2 ounce of Flushing Oil Concentrate per quart of engine oil.

For subsequent, routine oil change flushes, add 1/10th ounce of Flushing Oil Concentrate per quart of engine oil.

Occasionally, on an engine with years, or decades, of sludge build up, a second follow up concentrated flush may be required soon after the initial flush. It is suggested to add Flushing Oil Concentrate to clean oil (as per instructions for the "Initial Treatment/Dirty Engines"), at a rate of 0.25 (1/4) ounce Flushing Oil Concentrate per quart of engine oil. Operate the engine normally for between 4 - 6 hours, then drain, replace oil filters, and fill with quality oil.

8 ounces of Flushing Oil Concentrate treats a maximum of 16 quarts (4 gallons) of oil for the Initial/Dirty Engine concentrated flush.

16 ounces of Flushing Oil Concentrate treats a maximum of 32 quarts (8 gallons) of oil for the Initial/Dirty Engine concentrated flush.

32 ounces of Flushing Oil Concentrate treats a maximum of 64 quarts (16 gallons) of oil for the Initial/Dirty Engine concentrated flush.

FTC Decarbonizer

This is added directly to the fuel tank (diesel or gasoline) at time of fill up.

It is recommended to use a 'double dose' for the first 2400 miles or 20 hours, so that it can do a thorough job of oxidizing tough carbon deposits  in combustion areas as quickly and effectively as possible - this includes piston rings, ring grooves, exhaust valves, turbochargers, piston crowns, and deglazing cylinder bores. Depending on the severity of the hard carbon deposits, this can take up to approximately 20 hours of engine operation. After 2400 miles or 20 hours, the single dose rate can be used to continue to clean further deposits, and to keep the complete combustion area clean and working efficiently, particularly reducing significantly the production of soot, which has an enormously detrimental effect on all oil lubricated parts of the engine. Continued use over time will ensure maximum fuel efficiency & power, smooth engine operation, and less harmful emissions/exhaust smoke - all resulting in longer engine life and lower ongoing maintenance costs.

Treatment rates:

10 gallons of fuel - add 2 ounces

16 ounces of FTC Decarbonizer is usually enough to treat a small car or SUV-type vehicle.

32 - 64 ounces of FTC Decarbonizer is usually enough to treat small to medium trucks, RV's and some machinery.

1 gallon & 2.5 gallons of FTC Decarbonizer is usually enough to treat large trucks and machinery.

AW10 Antiwear

 

This is added directly to the lubricating oil - engine, transmission (automatic or manual), differential, final drive and hydraulic oils.

Treatment rate:

Engines: add at 2% of lubricating oil capacity

Manual transmissions, differential, final drives: add at 5% of lubricating oil capacity

Automatic transmissions & hydraulics: add at 1% of lubricating oil capacity

Below is a chart that may be helpful to determine which size is best for you depending on your vehicle's oil capacity.

For large oil capacities, e.g. multiple gallons, it is just a matter of multiplying the amount of AW10 Antiwear indicated in the chart against the 1 gallon amount by the number of gallons of lubricating oil. Example: 5 gallons of engine oil will require 12.5 ounces of AW10 Antiwear (5 x 2.5 = 12.5), or 7 gallons of  manual transmission oil will require 45.5 ounces of AW10 Antiwear (7 x 6.5 = 45.5).

As a rule of thumb, and depending on the vehicle's oil capacities, the following is usually helpful in determining which size is most suitable for your application -

Truckers Blow-by Pack

 

The Truckers Blow-by Pack is our most popular Value Pack, mainly because of the positive results it achieves in effectively reducing engine blow-by and increasing engine efficiency. The pack contains 2 very effective products - FTC Decarbonizer and Flushing Oil concentrate.

FTC Decarbonizer is a unique fuel catalyst - it enhances the combustion process of diesel fuel, causing the fuel to burn much more completely (therefore much less soot formed), as well as oxidizing (burning off) all existing hard carbon within the combustion area, including piston crowns and ring grooves, cylinder walls (deglazes the cylinders), turbochargers etc. This catalyzing effect increases fuel efficiency, resulting in more power per fuel ignition and flame burn. Also, by removing all hard carbon from the combustion area, piston rings 'un-stick' from the piston ring grooves and seal more firmly against the deglazed/de-carboned cylinder wall. This increases cylinder compression, resulting in an increase in engine power and energy efficiency (better fuel mileage). This process happens over time as the engine is operating.

Using FTC Decarbonizer on an on-going basis is the best way to achieve the full benefits of it. Over time the combustion area will become carbon free, and the engine oil will remain clean for a much longer period of time, as much less soot is produced during the combustion process.

The Flushing Oil Concentrate also has a great effect on un-sticking piston rings, especially the oil-control ring. By removing hard baked on sludge and carbon from the oil-control ring, the ring can once again seal correctly against the cylinder wall, reducing engine blow-by and oil use. The Flushing Oil Concentrate thoroughly cleans sludgy/gritty oil residue that usually does not drain away at a normal-type oil change.

Soot is a by-product of an incomplete combustion process, and if there is a lot of soot produced, it will make its way past the piston rings and into the engine crankcase. There it mixes with the oil, turning the oil jet-black and gritty, causing an abrasive effect on all oil-wetted engine components.

The way to determine which Truckers Blow-by Pack is right for your application is to firstly consider the size of the engine oil capacity, as the amount of Flushing Oil Concentrate required is the critical issue. For an effective engine oil flush, the correct amount of Flushing Oil Concentrate must be used - too little and the overall effect will be greatly reduced.  For the initial, heavy duty, concentrated treatment, the recommended treatment rate is 0.5 fluid ounce of Flushing Oil Concentrate per quart of engine oil. For example, an engine with a 6 quart engine oil capacity will require 3 ounces of Flushing Oil Concentrate for its initial, highly concentrated flush. A 4 gallon (16 quart) oil capacity engine will require 8 ounces, and a large 11 gallon (44 quarts) oil capacity engine will require 22 ounces of Flushing Oil Concentrate. The larger the engine oil capacity, the greater the amount of Flushing Oil Concentrate required.

The amount of FTC Decarbonizer required to effectively treat engine blow-by must also be considered. Smaller engines in smaller vehicles with better fuel economy figures (better MPG) will require less FTC Decarbonizer than larger vehicles with larger, less fuel efficient engines. For example, a diesel powered VW Passat 2.0 TDI, achieving approximately 30MPG, will require much less fuel (and consequently, much less FTC Decarbonizer) than a Kenworth W900L 12.7 Detroit, achieving approximately 6MPG.

With those considerations in mind, the recommendations are as follows:

For smaller vehicles and machinery, cars and light trucks, tractors, stationary generators, etc. with up to 16 quarts (4 gallons) oil capacity and achieving approximately 20MPG or better, the MINI Truckers Blow-by Pack is sufficient. This pack contains 8 ounces of Flushing Oil Concentrate and 32 ounces of FTC Decarbonizer.

For larger vehicles and machinery, medium to heavy trucks, large machinery, etc. with over 16 quarts (4 gallons) oil capacity and achieving less than approximately 20 MPG, the SMALL Truckers Blow-by Pack is required. This pack contains 32 ounces of Flushing Oil Concentrate and 1 gallon of FTC Decarbonizer.

The MEDIUM and LARGE Packs both contain 32 ounces of Flushing Oil Concentrate, and 2.5 gallons and 20 liters of FTC Decarbonizer respectively.

Overheating Value Pack

The pack contains AW10 Antiwear, which provides a massive strength increase to engine, transmission and hydraulic oils. In doing so, there is a huge reduction in frictional heat generation allowing components to remain much cooler.

The Flushing Oil Concentrate in this pack dissolves and suspends contaminants, hard carbon and sludge, allowing lubricating oil to flow more freely, dissipating heat, effectively resulting in cooler running temperatures and longer service life.

This Value Pack is available in 2 different size combinations:

Standard Pack contains 8 ounces of Flushing Oil Concentrate and 32 ounces of AW10 Antiwear. This Pack is cost effective and suitable for small to medium vehicles/engines with an engine oil capacity of up to 16 quarts (4 gallons). With this Pack, such vehicles can achieve up to 15 engine oil flushes with the Flushing Oil Concentrate (depending, of course, on engine oil capacity) and have enough AW10 Antiwear to treat the entire oil-lubricated parts of the vehicle - engine, transmission/transaxle, differentials and transfer case if applicable. Diesel Performance Pack

This  performance pack contains 3 extremely effective products that increase engine and transmission efficency and power, whilst reducing maintenance costs over the life of the vehicle or machine. It is suitable for both gasoline and diesel engines.

AW10 Antiwear is formulated to deliver tremendous increases in lubricant load carrying ability, wear reduction and friction/heat reduction.
